Dynisco Instruments Introduces Line Of Foundation(TM) Fieldbus Capable Transmitters

Franklin, MA (November 3, 2005) . . . Dynisco Instruments has introduced a new line of pressure transmitters with FOUNDATION Fieldbus capability. The company recently displayed these products at the ISA Expo 2005 in Chicago.
The three new models featured are:

-FFX2242, a thread-mounted pressure and temperature transmitter for processing applications, designed for use in both hazardous and non-hazardous locations;
-FFX2281, a rugged industrial pressure transmitter for use in both hazardous and non-hazardous locations; and,
-FFX2291, a button seal pressure transmitter for use in both hazardous and non-hazardous locations.
All of these products are designed for both ATEX and explosion-proof/flameproof operation.

"For processing control and monitoring, including temperature and pressure control in oil and gas, pulp and paper, and plastics applications, the trend towards using digital devices continues," said Douglas Joy, Vice President of Marketing for Dynisco. "We are introducing these products in anticipation of industry's shift towards digital control."

With the continued pressures on manufacturers to find ways to cut costs while increasing or at least maintaining profits, the number of companies making the switch is increasing rapidly, says Joy. "Digital pressure transmitters provide much richer data for a given application than what is possible with an analog transmitter," he said. "They also offer better performance through improved accuracy and higher resolution; and overall lower cost due to the need for fewer wires, meaning a simpler interface to the control system, and faster setup and configuration."

FOUNDATION Fieldbus is one of the leading digital systems for process applications, providing an open, integrated architecture for information integration. It is rapidly replacing HART in the process industry for intrinsically safe applications. Among the various choices of digital protocol, it appears to be leading the way by providing a robust platform for distributing control among intelligent field devices on the plant floor, and digitally communicating that information at high speed. Companies implementing this technology could gain competitive advantage by realizing cost savings through reduced installation and maintenance costs, and improved operations by increasing control over the entire manufacturing process.

Dynisco, LLC is a worldwide leader providing pressure and temperature sensors and instruments for plastics processing and other industrial applications; polymer test systems for laboratory and in-process measurement; and gear pumps, screen changers, pelletizers, cleaning ovens and other auxiliary equipment for the plastics and process industries under the Dynisco and Beringer brand names.
