Dyneon Opens Polymer Processing Additives Laboratory in Bangalore
OAKDALE, Minn. - March 31, 2006 - Dyneon, one of the world's leading
fluoropolymer producers, has opened a new polymer processing additives
laboratory in Bangalore, India, the country's fifth largest city and a
key Asian industrial and business center. The new laboratory will
enable Dyneon to accelerate product development, enhance productivity,
and reduce cycle times for Asian customers by means of analytical
resources and full, on-site technical support.
"This new laboratory extends Dyneon's substantial ability to respond
to the rapidly growing demand for packaging and plastics materials in
Asia," said Robert Moore, business manager, Dyneon, Specialty
Additives and Fluoroelastomers. "The Bangalore laboratory complements
Dyneon's global laboratory resources in Antwerp, Belgium; Gendorf,
Germany; Sumitomo 3M in Sagamahara, Japan; and Shanghai, China.
"The Bangalore laboratory is expected to be fully operational by the
end of April 2006, with capability to produce a wide range of polymer
processing additive concentrates, supported by world-class technical
and analytical services," he said. "It is being staffed and equipped
to provide responsive technical service and the very latest polymer
processing additives technology, and will serve Indian resin producers
and compounding operations, as well as U.S. manufacturers that
outsource manufacturing in Asia."
According to the Dyneon spokesman, laboratory resources include
instrumentation for analysis of additive dispersion, content analysis
and dry/melt blending.
