Duro-Last® Roofing Gets Sustainable with Staples
Saginaw, Michigan - August 31, 2011 - Duro-Last® Roofing, Inc., is pleased to announce that it has awarded Staples Advantage®, the business-to-business division of Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS),the implementation of a company-wide environmentally preferable cleaning and breakroom products program.
The program will help reduce Duro-Last's impact on the environment through the use of environmentally preferable cleaning products and breakroom supplies. To lessen impact on the environment, Staples has developed alternatives to conventional paper and plastic cups, plates, bowls, cutlery, and cleaning supplies. The Sustainable Earth by Staples(TM) products are environmentally preferable and meet rigorous environmental standards. They are made from renewable resources, recycled and/or compostable materials, and are recognized by third parties such as EPA DfE, Green Seal(TM) and BPI.
Duro-Last has a long history as an environmental leader. The company has recently been recognized by Corp! Magazine as a "Going Green" honoree and awarded the Oregon Governor's Sustainability Award for its commitment to sustainable business practices. Duro-Last also recently completed an energy-efficient lighting program by replacing its current lighting fixtures with energy-efficient lighting at its corporate headquarters in Saginaw, Michigan.
