DuPont Strengthens Presence in Michigan, Holds Community Tree-Planting Event

MIDLAND, MICH. (PRWEB) MAY 13, 2019 - DuPont today commemorated its growing presence in Michigan by holding a community tree-planting ceremony and park cleanup in Midland. DuPont Chief Executive Officer-Elect Marc Doyle joined Midland Mayor Maureen Donker along with employee volunteers and local community leaders at the event.

DuPont employs approximately 1,800 people across six sites in Midland, Auburn, Auburn Hills, Hillsdale, Troy and Hemlock. The Midland site itself is the second largest DuPont site in the world.

“DuPont is proud to plant and grow its roots as a corporate partner here in Michigan,” said Doyle. “We are invested in creating a long-term presence where our employees use their time, talent and resources to improve our communities, enhance and protect the natural environment, and promote economic development in the places we call home.”

DuPont also recently adopted a City of Midland parkland and walking path between Jefferson Street and Cinema Drive, installing benches and planting trees. In addition, employee volunteers will participate in regular cleanups along the walking path. Signage also will be installed at the path’s entrances, to make it more visible to visitors.

“Parks are essential to the health of individuals and communities,” said Donker. “They offer recreation and renewal, promote exercise, revitalize neighborhoods and protect the environment. This walking path, tucked into one of the busiest retail areas of Midland and adjacent to busy US 10, was in vital need of attention. With these improvements, we hope that not only residents but visitors to our area will use this walking path for their exercise and enjoyment.”
