Duke's Innovative HEATSINK(TM) Technology Improves Operational Efficiency and Delivers Superior Food Quality

Patented Product Holding Unit keeps food at the right temperature, texture and flavor

St. Louis (April 19, 2010) - As consumers limit their dining out expenses, restaurants are challenged to maintain diverse menus of high quality foods that are delivered fresh and on demand. Duke Manufacturing's enhanced HEATSINK(TM) product holding units extend food hold times and help restaurants meet the ebbs and flows of daily consumer demand by improving food quality, appearance and flavor, while reducing energy and labor costs.

Duke's exclusive HEATSINK(TM) technology features three-sided, wraparound heating that provides gentle and conductive heat transfer. Anodized aluminum cavities conform with each food pan to maximize efficient heat transfer which allows food to stay at its "just cooked" peak for 66 percent longer than other holding methods. In addition, the product holding units enhance operational efficiency by eliminating the need for water.

"Our research and development team has created an ideal solution for restaurants to serve freshly prepared food while addressing the common challenges faced by many operators to increase volume and menu selection while maintaining seamless operation and workflow in a limited workspace," said John R. Ulrich, Director National Chains. "Our technologically-advanced product holding units are a great solution that helps restaurant owners deliver the highest quality food to their customers by keeping food hot - at the right temperature, texture and flavor."

Duke is the leading global manufacturer of product holding units with more than 35,000 units sold worldwide to some of the leading restaurant chains in the industry including, Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, Applebee's and Denny's Restaurants.

"Many variables are at play between food preparation and serving," explains Rafael Thissen, Duke Corporate Executive Chef. "The Duke system helps meet the chef's most exact standards and ensures confidence that their unique menu items are served consistently at the optimal level intended for each recipe."
