Draft Agenda Released for March NESCC Meeting

The Nuclear Energy Standards Coordination Collaborative (NESCC), a joint initiative of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), has publicly released a draft agenda for its upcoming spring meeting, scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at ANSI Headquarters (1899 L Street, NW, 11th floor) in Washington, DC. Open to all interested stakeholders, NESCC meetings focus on identifying and responding to the current needs of the nuclear industry, and the standards that can facilitate its growth and development.

The upcoming meeting will include status reports from NESCC Task Groups (TGs) on welding, construction speed, electric cable, and concrete repair, as well as a review of 2012 NESCC action items, and discussion of new action items for the coming year. In addition, participants will consider possible updates to the NESCC charter, and hear reports on the use of HDPE piping systems at South Carolina’s Catawba Nuclear Plant and on ASTM International’s roadmap for bolstering commercial nuclear power, among other topics.
