Diversified Energy Corporation Expands Engineering Services Capabilities to Include Bioenergy Projects Such as Biodiesel, Ethanol, and Biomass Combustion/Digestion

o Company is responding to a rapid acceleration of new bioenergy projects in the U.S. and a shortage of resources that can provide accurate, objective and responsive engineering

o Developers are seeking customized support for projects that are often unique in nature, require large initial investments, and can contain substantive risks

o Diversified Energy® is leveraging its in-house bioenergy engineering staff and modeling tools, complemented by strategic partnerships/consultants with specialized skills

GILBERT, Ariz., June 28 -- Diversified Energy Corporation announced today that it is expanding its alternative and renewable energy technical services to now include a wide range of bio-based projects. The company to date has been extremely successful in providing engineering and economic services for projects using gasification technologies. Leveraging its in-house engineering expertise and a suite of modeling tools (such as AspenPlus®), the company is now expanding to serve the needs of biodiesel, corn-based ethanol, cellulosic ethanol, biomass combustion, and biomass anaerobic digestion project developers.

Hundreds of bioenergy projects are being proposed annually in the U.S. This competitive landscape, coupled with extreme market volatility, reinforces the need for rigorous technical and economic evaluation throughout a project's lifecycle, especially early in the development. Numerous independent studies have demonstrated the economic, schedule, and performance benefits gained through detailed planning and analyses.

Diversified Energy will focus on providing accurate, objective, and responsive engineering and economic services to bioenergy projects. The corporation has developed its own modeling and analyses tools, economics databases, and has formed relationships with multiple strategic partners for niche technical expertise. As a result, Diversified Energy can support projects involving a broad class of conversion technologies and a variety of energy outputs. Typical efforts will begin by helping a developer determine the viability and attractiveness of a project. Engagements will then often evolve into engineering design, technology selection, emissions profiling and permitting, representation to the financial community, and construction. Lastly, Diversified Energy will be able to support the creation of operations and maintenance plans for the project. The company is already working on several projects and partnerships, the details of which will be provided under separate announcements.
