Dennis Brickman Presents Paper at ASME Exposition


AURORA, IL - - 12/9/2009 - - Dennis B. Brickman, P.E., mechanical engineer and Senior Consultant at Engineering Systems Inc. (ESI) recently presented a paper, "Safety Analysis and Child Testing of Residential Windows" at the recent ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition in Florida. The paper, which was also published as part of the conference Proceedings, was co-authored by Joseph F. Grzetic, a Senior Technologist at ESI.

The presentation addressed safety analysis and a child testing program associated with windows in a multiple-story apartment complex, based on an incident where a young boy fell through an upper floor apartment window. Also addressed were failure modes and physical characteristics of tested window screens.

Mr. Brickman specializes in mechanical engineering safety and design and has over 20 years experience in safety studies, accident investigation, failure analysis, experimental testing, warnings and instructions, and standards research. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in two states. He is an active member of ASME, as well as several other professional organizations, has given numerous presentations and is well-published. Mr. Grzetic specializes in testing of plastic piping products, failure analysis of pipes, pipe investigations and research and development of materials.
