The Delphin DataService API (application programming interface) provides users with the ability to communicate independently between Delphin Message and Expert devices and Delphin ProfiSignal software. The API, along with some programming knowledge, gives quick and easy help for tasks such as processing measurement data in ProfiSignal from nonin-house hardware and software, and also for the writing of inhouse programs to access the Expert and Message hardware. DataService OPC:
The 'DataService OPC' option enables bi-directional data exchange between Delphin's DataService and its Message and Expert data loggers, as well as with third-party software. Any program that supports the OPC standard is able to communicate with the Delphin DataService.
The OPC option gives third-party programs Read access to the latest measurement data from device channels, and Write access to digital/analog outputs as well as markers (e.g. as setpoint values for controllers). Measurement data can also be sent from the OPC client software to the server, then saved in the DataService and displayed in ProfiSignal software.
The OPC interface is based on the OPC Foundation standard and supports DA (data access) functions in versions 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. Delphin's software team is already planning the use of the OPC UA standard.
The DataService OPC server can be installed on any local PC or network server. It requires a TCP/IP connection to the Expert and Message devices and gives access to the channels of the OPC client(s).
The ProfiSignal OPC software option is available as an extra, and gives you a high-performance OPC server/client that can provide all the channel data from the DataService Configurator as a separate channel.
