De Nora Product Technology Manager Sean Kennedy Expands Role to Focus on Growing Global Water Contamination Crisis

Milan, Italy - February 4, 2020 – De Nora, multinational leader of electrochemical technologies and water treatment solutions, today announces the expanded role of Product Technology Manager Sean Kennedy, based in the company’s Philadelphia area office. Kennedy, who joined De Nora in 2019 to manage SORB™ inorganic contaminant removal technologies, including arsenic and nitrate removal, will also manage the company’s UAT™ membrane filtration technologies. Combining both technologies under the same leadership reflects the company’s commitment to addressing the rising concern of increasingly contaminated water sources in a way that best serves its customers with pre- to post-treatment solutions.

“Sean’s experience and collaborative way of thinking have been a terrific asset to the De Nora team. Expanding his role reflects both his and the company’s commitment to offering full-service solutions to our clients,” said Stanley Shmia, product technology manager, De Nora Water Technologies, Inc. “We currently have a broad spectrum of pioneering and innovative water treatment technologies in our portfolio. This organizational change better positions us to fully leverage these technologies as our customers’ water challenges become more and more complex.”

Worldwide, the need to convert contaminated water sources to usable water is growing. National Geographic reports that, “according to the United Nations, water use has grown at more than twice the rate of population increase in the last century. By 2025, an estimated 1.8 billion people will live in areas plagued by water scarcity, with two-thirds of the world's population living in water-stressed regions as a result of use, growth, and climate change.”

With over two decades of demonstrated effectiveness, De Nora SORB adsorption and ion exchange systems can help solve these environmental, regulatory, and public health water treatment challenges and is a best available technology (BAT) for many contaminants of concern. UAT™ reverse osmosis membrane filtration systems use high-quality components to meet any tap, brackish or seawater application need. The skid-mounted membrane filtration systems are engineered to effectively produce treated water, free of particulate matter or contaminants. Combining these technologies under Kennedy’s leadership will streamline De Nora technologies to meet today’s mounting contaminated water crisis.
