Davis-Standard to Demo Converting System's Controls at NPE

April 14, 2009

(Fulton, N.Y.)--Davis-Standard's Converting Systems Group will demonstrate its latest control system technology during NPE. The exhibit will include a simulation of the widely used Integrator PRO, a live demonstration of the DS5 (Davis-Standard Secure Service Support System), and information on the Integrator C system.

The Integrator PRO combines total line control and data monitoring into one multi-functional information center. It is specifically designed for high-level converting processes encompassing cast film, blown film, extrusion coating, solvent and aqueous coating and drying. The NPE simulation will show the system's functionality across several applications as well as features that improve line management and efficiency.

The DS5 provides comprehensive equipment service using a safe and secure high-speed Internet connection. During the show, this system will be connected to the Davis-Standard lab in Fulton, New York. A demo using the running line and DS5 diagnostic capabilities will be conducted each day at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Advantages include a faster response time to customer needs, immediate access to diagnose and fix problems anywhere in the world, a safe and secure Internet connection, and security measures that allow only highly trained and authorized users to access the system. This service has improved Davis-Standard's ability to assist customers and provide them with cost savings by avoiding downtime.

The Integrator C is a direct replacement for existing CMR systems. The operator-friendly design of this system provides a single window for simplified control and monitoring of all system functions. This includes features for improved temperature controlling, drives and gauge interfacing, reporting and recipe management.
