The advanced technologies used in the construction of the cables include techniques to obtain superior flex and continuous-flex properties, new RoHS compliant materials as well as the latest jacketing, shielding and conductivity technology. Power cable designs have evolved to integrate the latest in materials that withstand many harsh chemicals and are able to conform to the sharp bend radii found in wiring compartments of new robot and machinery designs. Additionally, new advances in finely stranded bare copper conductors have been included in new continuous-flex cable designs to improve flexibility properties.
Encoder cables have seen improvements in electrical properties, noise emissions and abrasion & chemical resistance while communication cable for DeviceNet, Industrial Ethernet and ControlNet have also been improved with advances in materials and construction.
Addressing industry-driven trends towards higher abrasion and chemical resistance, MADISON CABLE custom cable designs often include the latest cable jacket formulations that include polyurethane, FEP and TEP. In addition, where the ultimate in insulation technology is required, FEP and Hytrel thermoplastic polyester elastomers are used. Additionally, cable constructions combining fiberoptic, coax, DVI and other media are available. Furthermore, special strength members, LVDS and Category components can be included. For EMI/RFI mitigation, braiding, spiraling and foil-lined components can be used.
