Curlin Excited to Add Industry Innovator Kelley Loading Dock Equipment to Product Line

Tampa, Florida – Curlin, a leader in designing, engineering and deploying solutions for warehousing and manufacturing companies, is now offering the Kelley line of hydraulic, air-powered and mechanical dock levelers, energy saving dock seals, STAR Vehicle Restraints and Dock Shelters.

Kelley, known for inventing the world's first counterbalanced dock leveler in 1954, has a history of creating products that have revolutionized the warehousing business.  Kelley’s record of innovation includes building the aFX® Dock Leveler, which was the first air-powered dock leveler. This product offers safe, powered performance at a cost comparable to mechanical dock levelers, with the added benefit of Kelley’s proprietary airDefense®anti-Stump-out system.  A Stump-out is what happens when a trailer bed height is below dock level, which means the safety legs must be retracted in order for the leveler to go below dock.  During the process of loading the trailer, suspension will rise and lower causing the legs to engage.  The airDefense®anti-Stump-out system provides sensor rollers to glide along a reinforced cam, providing fluid, free-float motion to purge stump-out while also providing a measure of free-fall protection in the event of premature trailer separation.

For customers with unique needs, the designers from Curlin and Kelley will develop custom solutions to loading dock application challenges. "Custom dock leveler systems for cold storage operations, heavy-duty dock levelers for high volume, heavy capacity loads or truly unique devices to service extra wide trailers below dock are a few areas where we have seen increased demand," according to Loading Dock Sales Manager Joe Clark.

Jeremy Chapman states "We are excited to be working with the original inventors of the first dock leveler! Our partnership with Kelley will provide our customers with a full line of dock leveler solutions for any of their specific needs."
