TUALATIN, Ore., Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- CUI Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: CUI) announced today that its wholly-owned Power & Electromechanical Division, CUI Inc. ("CUI"), has been awarded or named as a finalist for multiple electronics industry awards for several of its innovative products and technologies.
In October, CUI's advanced sleeve bearing DC fans built with the omniCOOL™ system won the Innovator of the Year award at Design & Elektronik's annual ceremony. CUI's omniCOOL system, which combines a magnetic structure and enhanced sleeve bearing design to improve fan life and performance, was voted a winner in the Electromechanical category by more than 1100 readers. A representative from CUI was present at the event in Munich, Germany on October 25 to accept the award, among other top companies in the industry.
For the 2018 Elektra Awards presented by Electronics Weekly, CUI has two products on the shortlist of finalists. CUI's AMT21 and AMT23 series of absolute modular encoders were named as a finalist for the Passive and Electromechanical Product of the Year, while its ICE Block data center hardware made the shortlist for the Power System Product of the Year. The Elektra Awards is a global electronics industry event showcasing the finest new products, technology innovations, and company performances of the year. Overall winners in each category will be announced at the Elektra Awards Dinner on December 5, 2018 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
WTWH Media's LEAP Awards, which celebrates the most innovative and forward-thinking products serving the design engineering space, recently announced CUI's high performance Peltier modules built with the arcTEC™ structure as a finalist in their Power Electronics award category. CUI's arcTEC structure incorporates a thermally conductive resin, high temperature solder, and larger P/N elements to greatly enhance reliability, performance, and cycle life in Peltier modules. The winners in each category will be honored at an awards presentation in Costa Mesa, California on December 11, 2018 in conjunction with DeviceTalks West.
