Connecticut Manufacturer Bead Electronics Attains IATF Automotive Quality Certification

Milford, CT (Date) - Bead Electronics announces that it has obtained IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications at its Milford facility. IATF Certification 16949 is the standard for Automotive Quality Management Solutions (QMS). It is utilized to ensure quality control such as prevention of defects, variation, and waste. In addition, IATF supports continual improvement.

“Attaining this certification was a major goal for us. It unequivocally demonstrates that Bead has the quality systems and capability to support automotive customer needs,” explains Lou Guerci, President of Bead. “Now we can do more for our current automotive customers and compete more broadly in this highly competitive global marketplace.”

Bead is the world leader in swaging technology and has been supporting automotive customers for many years, but typically as a Tier 3 supplier. This certification will allow Bead to support a wider range of customers including OEMS or Tier 1 automotive manufacturers.

Bead Electronics uses a unique, automated, scrap-less process called swaging to produce custom, electronic contact pins for automotive sensors, PCBs, connectors, medical device applications as well as many other industrial applications.

“The process-based approach of our IATF certification has strengthened our operating systems from product concept to full production. Customer-focused decision making, continual improvement and employee empowerment have been key components of strengthening those systems,” David Brenton, Director of Engineering shared.
