Compac Corporation Names George Chu Vice President of Operations


HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (March 20, 2006) - Compac Corporation - a global leader in providing custom solutions in coating, laminating and converting flexible substrates - has named George Chu as vice president of operations. In this role, he leads all manufacturing and related support efforts for Compac Corporation.

"George is an important addition to Compac Corporation as we continue in the effort to grow and expand our customer base," said Curtis Clarke, president of Compac Corporation. "His leadership skills will be critical in meeting and exceeding our customer and company expectations."

Prior to joining Compac, Chu served as manager of strategic operations for Asea Brown Boveri in their U.S. Instrumentation Division. He has also held several positions with Visteon Corporation, a spin-off division of the Ford Motor Company. At both organizations, Chu was instrumental in implementing process improvement initiatives critical to the success of his groups.

Chu received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and has significant experience with the application of lean enterprise solutions in workplace settings.
