Comcast to Open New 500-Seat Customer Call Center in Prince George's County

State-of-the-Art Call Center to House Advanced Product and Service Support Teams Servicing Metro Washington Customers

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md., Dec. 12 - Comcast today announced plans to build out a 92,000-square-foot, 500-seat regional call center in Largo, Md. at 1301 McCormick Drive. The new call center will primarily house customer service agents who will provide technical support for Comcast High-Speed Internet (CHSI), Comcast Digital Voice (CDV) and various advanced video products. Comcast currently employs more than 4,000 local employees throughout the Region, supporting the company's 1.1 million Potomac Region customers.

"Comcast's expansion will have a significant impact on Maryland's economy," said Governor Martin O'Malley. "But more than that, Comcast and its more than 4,200 Maryland employees are actively engaged in our communities through local grants, sponsorships, scholarships and volunteerism. We look forward to Comcast's continued growth and success in Maryland."

The State will provide a $500,000 loan through the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Fund (MEDAF), and the County has pledged $50,000. The State and County funds will assist Comcast with tenant improvements, fixtures and equipment in the new location.

The space will feature state-of-the-art technology and a host of employee- oriented amenities including an exercise center, auditorium, break rooms, training/meeting facilities and on-site parking. The call center will be located just off I-495 and metro accessible, convenient to a host of shopping, restaurants and entertainment venues. Jones Lang LaSalle represented Comcast in the real estate aspects of the transaction, and Comcast expects to have its first employees situated in the facility by the first quarter of 2008. A grand opening event is also slated to take place during that timeframe.

"2007 was a milestone year for Comcast, and we are already gearing up for growth in 2008 across every product and service we offer," said Curt Pendleton, regional senior vice president for Comcast's Potomac Region. "Our new Largo call center will help us deliver an improved customer experience and we will be recruiting across the Region to expand our team with employees who share a passion for delivering great customer service."

The Largo call center joins Comcast's other Regional facilities including call centers in Rockville, Md.; Silver Spring, Md.; Washington, DC and Manassas, Va. Comcast credits its expansion to growth in all aspects of its business, with an emphasis on the Triple Play bundle of video, high-speed Internet and residential phone service.
