Colonial Tool Group Inc. Purchases Advanced Cutting Tool Systems, Inc.
Windsor, Ontario-based Colonial Tool Group Inc. has purchased the business of Advance Cutting Tool Systems, Inc., also located in Windsor, Ontario. The announcement is being made by Paul Thrasher and Brett Froats, two of the principal partners at Colonial Tool Group, 1691 Walker Road, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, telephone (519) 253-2461.
Advance Cutting Tool Systems, Inc. is a manufacturer of special carbide insert boring, milling and broaching tools for the automotive and aerospace industries. In business since 1970, Advance Cutting Tool Systems has become a valuable and respected resource for quality special carbide insert cutting tools to machine cylinder heads, blocks, connecting rods, camshafts, crankshafts, manifolds and covers.
Paul Thrasher, president of the Precision Spindle operation says, "The acquisition of Advance will complement our growing precision machine spindle manufacturing business by allowing Colonial to provide complete spindle and tooling packages. For many years, Colonial has independently worked with Advance on numerous programs. Now, by acquiring these capabilities, we will be able to better satisfy the customer with faster
quoting, manufacturing and delivery of spindle/tooling packages."
Brett Froats, president of the Colonial Broach Division says, "We will be integrating Advance's indexable cutting tool operations into our two current manufacturing facilities.
This includes our 42,000 square foot plant here on Walker Road in Windsor, and also in
our 30,000 square foot spindle manufacturing facility located in Taylor, Michigan. The acquisition will also add approximately 20 additional employees to our workforce and will now bring our total employment to 95."
Colonial Tool Group Inc. is a designer and manufacturer of precision broaching tools, spline rolling racks, and RAS(TM) precision machine spindles used principally by the automotive industry. They also provide spline rolling and broaching services for small and medium production runs. As a machine tool designer and builder, Colonial supplies all types of broaching machines and spline rolling machines.
