Cog Belts Eliminate Slippage On Oil Skimmers!

It has been reported to Wayne Products Inc. by new Mini-Skimmer(TM) prospects and customers, that some competitive oil skimmers fail in service due to belt slippage. All reported problem skimmers have had flat belts. The two causes of slippage were that tension could not be maintained between pulleys and/or that slippery sludge or swart accumulates on the upper drive pulley causing slippage.

It is important to remove the tramp oils in coolants on a continuous basis to avoid the negative problems that the oil causes. Oil skimmers are usually automatically programmed to operate in off hours when the coolant is quiesent, and thus may not be immediately noticed if non-functioning.

There are two ways to solve this problem! Models MSB and ECB Mini-Skimmers(TM), are designed with cog polyurethane belts and have a positive drive, like timing belts on autos. The inoperative skimmer can be replaced with a new Mini-Skimmer(TM), or Wayne Products may be able to provide a "retrofit kit" and cog belt at less cost!
