Clean Harbors Announces Appointment of Laura Schwinn as President, Oil & Gas Field Services


Clean Harbors, Inc. (“Clean Harbors”) (NYSE: CLH), the leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services throughout North America, today announced that Laura Schwinn has been appointed as President, Oil Gas Field Services, effective March 4, 2013.



“With almost two decades of experience as a recognized industry leader, Laura brings valuable perspective and keen insights to Clean Harbors,” said Alan S. McKim, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clean Harbors. “Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Laura began her career in the Calgary oil patch, and expanded her career in the oil and gas industry in various roles around the world. Attracting a proven and seasoned executive to this newly formed position is an important milestone for our Oil & Gas Field Services business.  The North American energy industry is currently undergoing a major transformation and entering a phase of rapid growth.  Laura’s expertise in this sector will enable us to best position Clean Harbors to capitalize on the short- and long-term opportunities presented by the evolving needs of the major energy producers.  We believe Laura is an ideal fit for Clean Harbors and look forward to her leading this business into its next stage of growth.”



Previously, Schwinn held a variety of senior positions at Halliburton, most recently as Vice President, Drill Bits and Services.  Prior to Halliburton, Schwinn served in a business development role at Schlumberger.  Schwinn earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Victoria in British Columbia.
