CipherLab Earns Top Three Ranking in New AIDC Customer Survey

Venture Development Corporation's Report Highlights CipherLab's Handheld Scanners for Design and Durability

Taipei, Taiwan - November 30, 2006 - CipherLab, a leading innovator in Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) for the retail, warehouse and distribution markets, today announced that it ranked in the top three handheld scanner vendors in Venture Development Corporation's (VDC) recent customer survey. In the report entitled "The Global AIDC Industry Business Planning Service 2006," end-users ranked CipherLab in the top three Best Solutions/Services Vendors for handheld scanners in the following product features categories: memory, read rate, ruggedness and size.

"We've found that a survey based on customer experiences and opinions is a highly efficient method not only for determining the highest performing products, but also for identifying products that most effectively satisfy the requirements and needs of the end user," said Andrew Nathanson, Director of VDC's AIDC practice.

VDC has more than 30 years of experience in providing market research, strategic analysis and consulting services to technology companies worldwide. The end users surveyed in "The Global AIDC Industry Business Planning Service 2006," represent a cross-section of multiple vertical markets, including the manufacturing, retail, healthcare services and transportation industries.

"A third-party survey based entirely on customer satisfaction and preferences is arguably one of the most critical types of evaluation a product can undergo," said Stephen Gong, President of CipherLab. "CipherLab's placement in the top three vendors in four product categories not only demonstrates the quality of our handheld scanners, but provides potential customers with a benchmark to consider when making future purchasing decisions."
