CIMdata and TCS Partner on an Automotive and Industrial CXO Roundtable

The roundtable will look at how OEMs are Reinventing Product Development.

Ann Arbor, MI, USA 14 July 2021--CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm, will participate with TCS in an Automotive and Industrial CXO roundtable to discuss how OEMs are reimagining product development strategies helping them deliver innovative products and services for the customer.

The roundtable, Reinventing Product Development in Automotive and Industrial Manufacturing, will take place virtually on Tuesday, 27 July. The event will start at 10:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time and will last for 90 minutes.

In the Automotive and Industrial sectors, products are more connected, autonomous, and sustainable. This development requires a shift in how products are designed, validated, built, and sold. Live presentations and a panel discussion will seek to address this premise. The program will include time for a lively question and answer session.

In a keynote address, Agile Product Development: Identifying Which areas of Product Development fits Agile Methodology, Dr. Steven Eppinger, Professor of Management Science at the MIT Sloan School of Management, will look at how organizations can adapt Agile to their product development process.

After that presentation, a panel discussion will take place on “Reinventing Product Development for the Future.” Mr. Edzel Gonsalves of TCS will moderate the panel discussion. The panel will include Craig Brown, a CIMdata Executive Consultant; Regu Ayyaswamy, Senior Vice President & Global Head, Internet of Things, TCS; and Joan Wills, Executive Director, Cummins Electronics.

Panelists will share their experiences and the thought processes needed to navigate through the new paradigm of product development. The panel will consider the following areas:

  • The skills needed to meet the needs of product development of the future.
  • The impact of digitalization, like AI/ ML, on the role of designers/ engineers involved in product development.
  • The ways changing business models, such as subscription models, the monetization of software services/features, impact product design and features.
  • How Agile strategies could work in your organization’s product development process.
