Cheniere Awards Invensys the Terminal Operations Management System Contract for its New Sabine Pass LNG Receiving Terminal in Louisiana

Major software integration project will automate critical business processes in customer service, production operations and compliance management, tying to enterprise information systems

FOXBORO, MASSACHUSETTS, USA - March 9, 2006 - Cheniere LNG, Inc., a unit of Cheniere Energy, Inc., has selected Invensys Process Systems (www.invensys.com/ps) to implement the Terminal Operations Management System (TOMS) for the company's Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal being built in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The Invensys implementation for Cheniere's TOMS project will employ a system architecture that integrates Invensys and third-party software solutions to support the supervision and management of the Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal, with scalability to accommodate additional terminals. Invensys will provide consulting, software products, and a range of integration, implementation, testing and training services, all of which will leverage Invensys' extensive expertise and experience in the global LNG industry.

Cheniere is undertaking the TOMS project for its Sabine Pass LNG terminal to establish industry-leading best practices for safety, customer service, operational efficiency, security, and compliance with regulatory, statutory, commercial and financial reporting requirements.

The TOMS system will automate and integrate business processes in Customer Services, Production Operations and Compliance Management. More than 20 critical software systems from Invensys and third parties will be integrated within the Terminal Operation Management System and with Cheniere's enterprise level business systems. The software systems range from Ship Tracking and Terminal Operations Planning, to Enterprise Asset Management, Operations Execution, LNG Tank Composition, Terminal Performance Management, Incident Management and Security Monitoring.

The TOMS implementation will be founded on: a unified architecture; universal data exchange with enterprise systems; use of standardized interfaces; data storage and retrieval; modular architecture, and web-based solutions.

The new contract builds on previous Invensys performance in the Sabine Pass project. Invensys had been awarded, and successfully completed, the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) for the Terminal Operations Management System for Sabine Pass. The objective of the FEED effort was to provide a high-level design of a system that would facilitate safety, reliability, maintainability, operation efficiency and integration of terminal operations information systems, enabling an upward integration from the terminal's unit level controls to Cheniere's corporate offices.
Invensys is able to provide a uniquely broad spectrum of consultative skills, including business understanding and methodology, information technology, in depth LNG technical knowledge as well as LNG solution technologies. The people on Invensys project teams have brought together business consulting, system integration, automation control solutions, and project management for LNG companies worldwide.
