Chehalis Facility Gains ASME Nuclear Certification

Nuclear & Military Castings Upgrade Capability at Bradken Atlas (update)

Bradken's foundry in Chehalis, WA recently underwent a successful NCA3800 audit conducted by ASME in response to an application submitted last year for accreditation as an approved materials organization for the manufacture and supply of nuclear controlled casting components. Tacoma's certificate (QSC-204) will now list Chehalis (QSC-204-1) as an approved site of manufacture. The Chehalis focus will be specialty alloys and small complex parts in the size range of 50 to 1,000 pounds with minimum heat size of only 500lbs.

The addition of this certificate, along with the already established ISO registration, allows Bradken's Engineered Products Division, the opportunity to service the small and medium casting markets for nuclear, oil and gas, and military components with competitive prices and short cycle deliveries.

Bradken's Engineered Products Division is based in Kansas City, MO, USA and has manufacturing facilities in Atchison, Kansas; St. Joseph, Missouri; Tacoma and Chehalis, Washington; Amite, Louisiana, and London, Ontario; as well as a trading office in Xuzhou, China. The company designs and manufactures large, highly engineered ferrous sand castings, machined components and assemblies for major companies in the energy, mining, railroad and mass transit industries.
