Central Maintenance and Welding Completes Cooling Tower Project for Mosaic Co.

January 2, 2010 (Lithia, Florida) - As one of their recent turnaround projects for the Mosaic Co. Bartow (FL) plant, Central Maintenance and Welding, Inc. (CMW) performed critical maintenance repairs on their cooling towers.

In terms of a leading priority, the project repairs consisted of the replacement of the main support structures with #1 redwood material. This proved to be especially challenging due to the prior condition of three of the four main supports to the drive base. Additionally, CMW replaced a 6-foot section of "V" bar and all of the drift eliminators. Finally, Central Maintenance and Welding performed some minor deck repairs and executed access ladder replacements as well.

The entire project was performed on schedule, within budget, and with no safety incidents. Chris Braglin, CMW's Project Manager for the job stated, "Once again, we demonstrated our on-going performance commitment to a customer. A relentless focus on safety, quality job performance, and timeliness with schedule translates to 100% customer satisfaction. That's what really matters!"
