Cattron, a Unit of Laird Technologies, to Attend ASLRRA 2011 Trade Show

Company to Highlight Radio Remote Controls for Locomotive Industry

St. Louis, Missouri, USA - April 19, 2011 - Laird Technologies, Inc., a global leader in the design and supply of customized performance-critical components and systems for advanced electronics and wireless products, today announced it will be attending the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) 2011 trade show. The trade show will be held at the Marriott Rivercenter and Marriott Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas, April 30 - May 3, 2011. Cattron, a unit of Laird Technologies, will exhibit at booth #205.

Cattron, a unit of Laird Technologies, will showcase its newest offerings of remote controls and monitoring software that are designed for locomotive industry; including the CattronConnect(TM) software system and the QC-II remote control system.

CattronConnect(TM) is equipment monitoring software that uses either 802.11 or satellite phones to connect to the system network depending on asset and infrastructure location. The system monitors a series of sensor networks and sends alerts to selected individuals or users if an issue is detected.

The QC-II remote control system is incorporated on locomotives being used throughout the United States. It is a lighter, more portable remote control that allows for a one-person operation by taking the engineer out of the cab of the locomotive and letting the user remotely operate the locomotive when the need for moving it arises.

"Cattron, a unit of Laird Technologies, will once again be displaying at the ASLRRA 2011 show in San Antonio, Texas to promote its CattronConnect(TM) and QC-II remote control systems," said Daniel Mihalcak, Cattron, a Unit of Laird Technologies, Vice President of Sales - Rail Group. "This portable remote control utilizes the latest in remote control technology as well as the ability to download pertinent information from the locomotive via cellar phone or 802.11 wireless. This system offers the end user the best product on the market for their locomotive remote control needs, and is backed by Catton's unparalleled service."

ASLRRA 2011 affords attendees the latest in rail industry news in a venue with unprecedented educational and networking opportunities. The event allows participants to interact with knowledgeable speakers along with a wide variety of suppliers within the industry. The show offers two training sessions in conjunction with a primary agenda and more than 40 breakout sessions, each addressing the hottest topics in today's industry.
