California ISO Chooses Siemens Software for Transmission Planning


PSS(TM)E software selected for comprehensive and advanced technical capabilities

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 12 / / -- The California Independent System Operator (California ISO) has selected the Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution, Inc., Siemens Power Technologies International (Siemens PTI) PSS(TM)E software suite to augment their transmission planning processes. The software includes the new probabilistic reliability features (TPLAN) recently included in the PSS(TM)E Version 31 base system.

The California ISO conducted a comprehensive evaluation process and selected the overall comprehensive and advanced technical capabilities of the feature set of PSS(TM)E. Further, Siemens PTI continues to invest in additional capabilities in the software that would help meet California ISO's needs into the future. Mike Edmonds, vice president and general manager of Siemens PTI, stated, "We are pleased to add California ISO as a customer of our PSS(TM)E software in addition to the other Siemens PTI software that they use.
