Calex 1000 Watt FXW Wide Input Range Full Bricks Now UL Approved
Calex Mfg. Co., Inc. of Concord California announces the FXW 1000 Watt full brick series is now UL60950 approved. The FXW Series has an unprecedented 9 to 36V input range in a 1000W full brick. Ideal for 12V and 24V battery powered applications, the FXW provides a high power density, compact light weight solution for powering in-vehicle electronics for applications such as autonomous vehicle computing, vision systems, mobile security equipment, ground based COTS military systems, etc. Efficiencies for the FXW run as high as 96%. The FXW measures 4.7” x 2.5” x 0.52”H.
The FXW series offers output voltages of 12, 24, 28, 48 and 53VDC. All models are fully isolated input to output. The switching frequency of the FXW is 200kHz. All models feature a trim range of +10% to -40% as well as ON/OFF control. Mindful of battery powered applications, the current draw for the FXW in the OFF state is only 2mA. Line and load regulation for the FXW is 0.05%. The operating baseplate temperature of all models is -40 to +105 °C. Threaded through holes are provided to allow easy mounting or the addition of a heatsink for extended temperature operation.
The high efficiency and power density of the FXW is accomplished through the use of high efficiency synchronous rectification technology, advanced circuit, packaging and thermal design thus resulting in a high reliability product.
