BTU Sweeps Industry Awards with ENERGY PILOT Software

NORTH BILLERICA, Mass. – BTU International, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment for the electronics and alternative energy manufacturing markets, announces that it has been awarded a 2015 EM Asia Innovation Award in the category of Production Management Systems for its ENERGY PILOT software. The award was presented to the company during an April 22, 2015, ceremony at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Convention Center during NEPCON China. This marks the fourth award the ENERGY PILOT Software has earned since its introduction.

“BTU’s ovens have long been known for providing long-term value to our customers through the highest process yield and equipment reliability,” said Peter Tallian, general manager of BTU International. “With ENERGY PILOT we’ve further increased the value by lowering the ongoing operating costs.”

The ENERGY PILOT software saves manufacturers money whenever the oven is idle. Standby mode can save more than 25 percent. Sleep mode can be used for longer interruptions saving more than 40 percent. Long idle periods fully shut down the oven using hibernate mode. Recovery times are minimized using remote product sensors and SMEMA.

ENERGY PILOT is a feature in the latest release of BTU’s windows-based WINCON™ operating system that is designed to reduce the consumption of electrical power and process gas. Operation is fully automatic and results in an overall reduction in electrical, air and nitrogen consumption. The feature is easily upgradeable on older BTU reflow ovens.

Established in 2006, the EM Asia Innovation Awards program strives to recognize and celebrate excellence in the Asian electronics industry, inspiring companies to achieve the highest standards and push the industry forward.
