Bosch Rounds Off Its Portfolio for Pharmaceutical Water Treatment

o A one-stop solution - from drinking water supply to point-of-use

o Treatment systems for purified and highly purified water

o Generation of highly purified water using reverse osmosis and electrodeionization

At Interpack 2011 in Düsseldorf, Pharmatec, a Bosch Packaging Technology company, is presenting its newly developed PW 6500 H, a purified water generation unit. The PW 16500 H rounds off the company's portfolio for pharmaceutical water treatment. The development underlines Bosch's position as one-stop provider of process and packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

Bosch designs, manufactures and installs customized units for the production of purified and highly purified water. All necessary pretreatment steps are designed based on up-to-date analyses. With their modular structure and a choice of different sizes, the units can be adapted to produce between 400 and 16,500 liters of purified, or highly purified, water per hour. The customers benefit from a modular system allowing the use of standard elements. As a one-stop provider Bosch satisfies its customers' needs to meet all their requirements from a single supplier. This reduces the need for complex interface coordination and therefore speeds up projects. "From drinking water supply to point-of-use, the Bosch systems allow for the compliant implementation of all stages of the water treatment process," explained Helmut Sommer, Director Highly Purified Media Systems at Bosch.

Reverse osmosis and electrodeionization are used to produce the purified water. Highly purified water is produced by using additional ultrafiltration modules. In accordance with the latest Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements all facilities are suitable for hot water sanitization.
