Ann Arbor, MI-A unique solution for the aircraft industry's need for high-precision geometrical parts marking is Borries Marking System's Model 350 dot matrix machine with integrated image processing for complete marking verification for traceability and lot control. Designed to meet AS 9132 requirements for Data Matrix codes, Borries' dot matrix mechanism with 3 NC axis has an electronically-controlled dot matrix head with integrated distance sensing to provide maximum repeatability and control of data matrix geometry. The system utilizes WINDOWS(R)-based software for fast and easy layout generation.

Fulfilling the aircraft industry's need for 100% proof of marking, the Model 350 has a camera verification system specifically designed to meet three-dimensional properties of dot-peening Data Matrix codes on metal. Verification results are kept in a data base together with marked data, allowing images to be saved and the properties of each and every dot to be traced.

The machine consists of a proven multiple coordinate unit, a dot peening system designed specifically for AS 9132 image verification, a vertical NC axis-featuring a wide working area for work piece loading, a three-axis controller using a 32-bit processor, an electric marking head with built-in height sensing and a cast aluminum metal table.

Utilizing Borries' VisuWin universal marking software program, the system allows the user to change the menu language at any time. The system is designed to integrate with a wide range of control systems and data transfer protocols. It features a high precision camera for reading part numbers, date codes, order numbers or other information.

The Model 350 is 670 mm high by 351 mm wide by 441 mm deep, with a maximum work piece height of 150 mm (100 mm x 50 mm working area). Process time is dependent on the amount of information marked, with marking speeds of 3 to 4 characters per second, and a three-second camera verification time.
