BorderWare SIPassure Solution Now Rated

LAS VEGAS, May 22 -- BorderWare Technologies, a global vendor of messaging security, privacy and compliance solutions, today announced that its SIPassure, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Security Gateway is compliant with key Internet protocol (IP) communications solutions from Avaya (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

BorderWare SIPassure combines the best features of a firewall, an application layer gateway and a session border controller. SIPassure is designed to secure all SIP-based applications, including voice over IP services, video conferencing and other messaging applications. SIPassure is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Communication Manager IP telephony software release 4.0 and Avaya SIP Enablement Services version 3.1.2, a standards-based communications architecture that bridges the public switched telephone network and Internet worlds.

"The successful interoperability testing of Avaya and BorderWare solutions is a testament to our shared vision in architecting products using open, standards-based platforms for flexibility and cost-effectiveness," said Tim Leisman, CEO of BorderWare. "Using this approach, BorderWare's SIPassure delivers cost-effective session border control and security for IP communications for both the enterprise and service provider markets. Organizations of all sizes are now able to securely extend the reach of their IP communications beyond the local network to reach mobile users, partners and customers and get the most out of their communications infrastructure."

BorderWare is a member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection Program - an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.

As a member of the program, BorderWare is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure - speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like BorderWare who are members of our DeveloperConnection program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. "They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available - getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line."
