Bishop-Wisecarver Group Helps Empower Young Women as Sponsor of 2017 Astra S.T.E.A.M. Summit

WHO: Bishop-Wisecarver Group (BWG) is a family of WBENC-certified companies that offer guidance solutions, contract specialty manufacturing and mechatronic-based engineering services.
Melsha Winchester, Director of Marketing at BWG, manages the company’s efforts in supporting numerous STEAM education and mentoring programs. Winchester was recently selected as a 2017 STEP Award winner by The Manufacturing Institute, which recognizes high-achieving women in manufacturing. She also serves as an officer for the National Black MBA Association, San Francisco/Bay Area Chapter.
WHAT: The Astra S.T.E.A.M. Summit is an interactive two-day conference for young women grades 6-12, with interest in STEAM subjects and entrepreneurship. Astra S.T.E.A.M. Summit supports STEAMers through their professional journey after the conference by connecting those young women to their peers, women entrepreneurs, and women in STEAM careers.
The Opportunities in STEAM Industries panel gives STEAMers the opportunity to interact with successful business women from a variety of different STEAM industries and provides a creative, multi-lesson format for showcasing career options and benefits.
