Bernard® to Showcase MIG Welding Guns and Consumables at Fabtech International/AWS Welding Show

BEECHER, Ill., August 11, 2005 - To improve welding productivity and reduce costs for applications in the fabrication and welding industries, Bernard will showcase its MIG welding products at the Fabtech International/AWS Welding Show in Chicago, November 13-16 in booth #6030. Of special interest to the fabrication and welding industries are Bernard's Centerfire(TM) MIG welding consumables and the Q-Gun line of MIG guns with upgraded back end assemblies.

Centerfire

The revolutionary design of Centerfire gas diffusers, contact tips and nozzles produces superior welding performance and reduces down time on most MIG welding applications, both factors that improve productivity and quality. The threadless Centerfire contact tips "Drop-In" the gas diffuser and require no tools to change (operators simply hand tighten the nozzle), making them easier to replace after a burn back. When coupled with the correct nozzle, contact tips stay fixed either at 1/4-inch or 1/8-inch recess, flush or 1/8-inch stick-out, while their large diameter tip bases and tapered seats increase electrical conductivity and heat transfer.

Hand tightened Centerfire nozzles come with built-in spatter shields to protect the gas diffusers and produce smoother, less turbulent gas flow. The solid, concentric relationship between the contact tips and nozzles keep the tips centered and fixed at the desired position even after hard use.

Bernard Q-Gun

To minimize downtime and costs on hand-held, air-cooled industrial welding applications, Bernard's offers five unique torch handles on all Q-Guns, along with either rotatable or fixed necks. Bernard Q-Guns come in 150-, 200-, 300-, 400-, 500- and 600-amp models and are rated at 100 percent duty cycle with CO2 shielding gas.

Bernard's patent pending straight handle offers improved ergonomics, while additional trigger and switch options allow the user to choose between locking trigger, dual pull trigger, dual schedule switch and trigger extension. The recent addition of upgraded back end assemblies improves strain relief, while allowing for easier direct plug changeover and trigger cable adapter ("pigtail") use.

Bernard's CustomSelect(TM) ordering system at bernardwelds.com allows for easy and precise configuration of all Q-G guns. Operators can choose between 150-, 200-, 300-, 400-, 500- and 600-amp models, select their preferred gun and neck design and attach Centerfire consumables to their Q-Guns.
