Belt Conveyor Oven Tempers Mechanical Springs for a Variety of Industries

Wisconsin Oven designed and manufactured an electrically heated belt conveyor oven for a manufacturer of assorted mechanical steel springs that are used in a variety of products and industries such as automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, consumer products and medical devices. The conveyor oven is designed to temper several shapes and styles of springs.

The oven chamber is 1'8" wide x 15' long x 9" high. The maximum temperature rating is 850° F with a normal operating temperature of 800° F. The belt conveyor oven system uses a 1/2" x 1/2" flat wire belt made of high carbon steel and a variable frequency AC drive with electronic torque limiting, adjusted and centered on a speed of 9" per minute.

The NEMA 12 control enclosure includes IEC style motor starters, push buttons, and pilot lights. The temperature is controlled by a Honeywell UDC2500 temperature controller. The recirculation system utilizes a 7,000 CFM @ 7-1/2 HP plug mounted blower. The supply air is delivered through a fully adjustable boxed duct in a top-down airflow design for optimum air flow efficiencies.
