Bell Microproducts Appoints Paul Cook as UK Commercial Sales Director


SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 30 -- Bell Microproducts Inc. (Nasdaq: BELM), one of the world's largest value-added distributors of storage and computing technology, today announced it has appointed Paul Cook as director of UK commercial sales. Based out of the company's Chessington office, Cook will take responsibility for Bell Microproducts' UK e-tail, system builder, SMB and corporate sales teams, and report to Graeme Watt, president, Bell Microproducts Europe.

Cook will be responsible for continuing Bell Microproducts' initiative to build a robust sales organization capable of injecting premium growth rates into its UK Commercial sales channel.

Cook has a long and impressive history in the UK IT industry, and most recently served as managing director for Acer UK, where he helped build the organization into the third largest notebook manufacturer in the UK. Before joining Acer, Cook held the position of managing director at Westcoast, a leading national wholesale distributor, and prior to that Cook was sales director for Computer 2000.

Cook attained an HND in business studies from Bromley Technology College, and also trained as an accountant for the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants. He replaces Alistair Brett.
