Bell and Howell Brings "The Future of Getting it There" to GRAPH EXPO

Featuring Innovations in Service and Technology that Help Improve and Add Capabilities

Durham, N.C. — More than 75 years ago, the mailing industry was revolutionized with the introduction of gripper-arm technology. Looking forward, Bell and Howell has renewed efforts to develop innovative means of delivering mail, parcels and electronic communications, representing "The Future of Getting it There." Bell and Howell will be displaying a full complement of service, hardware and software solutions in booth 3005 at GRAPH EXPO, Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Bell and Howell solution experts will be on hand at GRAPH EXPO to demonstrate its software, hardware and service solutions, including:

Service

Bell and Howell's Service solutions are now available to customers within and outside of mailing operations. With hundreds of technicians throughout the United States and Canada, Bell and Howell has expanded its capacity to service equipment other than its own and other than mailing. This includes digital printers, wide-format printers, competitive inserters, robotics and much more. The company has also implemented a new hourly rate structure for service calls that allows customers to choose when they want the service for a rate they can afford. Customers can now choose among same-day, next-day and two-day service based on urgency of need. To further enhance customers' experience with Service, Bell and Howell has launched a new parts website: my.bellhowell.net.

CartonWrap

Introduced earlier this year, CartonWrap™ is a dynamic packaging system that automatically boxes and labels ready-to-ship goods for the eCommerce fulfillment market at up to 15 boxes per minute. Visitors will experience CartonWrap via a 3-D Theater in Bell and Howell's booth. This eco-friendly solution creates boxes to fit the volume of the content, thus maximizing space while reducing shipping and labor costs, warehousing of materials, and use of filler material.

Inveloper

Introduced in 2011 by Bell and Howell and CMC, this unique, green-technology finishing concept wraps inserts in customized envelopes created from a paper roll. Inveloper users report increased response rates as much as 75 percent over traditional envelopes. Recent upgrades to Inveloper® include multiple matching between letter-insert-envelope webs with automatic synchronization; in-line envelope window making and/or flap profile die cutting; expanded card applications with affixing to carrier or envelope web; and printing/personalization of carrier and/or cards.

Producer 22

The Producer® 22 mail inserting system can process a wide variety of complex applications at speeds up to 22,000 cycles per hour. Designed for 24/7 operation, Producer 22 provides true "in-line" inserting, reduces rework and increases productivity. This durable inserter yields low cost per piece, making operations more competitive and profitable.

Enterprise Software Solutions

Bell and Howell's enterprise software solutions increase efficiency and visibility by optimizing production environments to achieve significant cost savings.  The software leverages existing automated document factory (ADF) infrastructures to manage multi-channel communications, both paper-based and digital.  Visitors can also learn more about Work Bench™, Bell and Howell's new work-cell management utility that consolidates many production floor tasks (including virtual job tracking sheets, materials management, QC/QA processes, job reconciliation and more) to a single desktop or work cell regardless of the equipment brand.

"Bell and Howell is a leader in the mail, inserting, sorting and print industries, but we are reinventing ourselves to take advantage of innovations in business and technology," said CEO Ramesh Ratan. "As we reinvent the company with new leadership and create new capabilities, we want to help our customers make those transitions as well while still increasing efficiency and saving money."

In addition to Ratan, the following Bell and Howell executives will be on hand at GRAPH EXPO to meet with customers, prospects and the media: Larry Blue, COO; Mike Swift, VP/GM Sorting Parcels; Jim Feely, VP/GM Service Solutions; and Mike Lambert, VP/GM of Enterprise Software.
