Bastian Automation Engineering Receives ISO 9001:2015 Certification
Company among first in the U.S. to achieve ISO 9001:2015 standards.
January 11, 2017 (Greenfield, Ind.) – Bastian Automation Engineering, a manufacturing division of global material handling systems integrator, Bastian Solutions, announced today its ISO 9001:2015 certification. This makes the company one of the first in the U.S. to implement an approved quality management system that meets the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
“The 2008 ISO standard was the previous revision, and since ISO certification must be renewed every three years, most companies re-applied under the 2008 standard. However the 2015 certification places a larger emphasis on continual improvement, so it was important for us to be certified as an ISO 9001:2015 company,” stated Andy Eckerle, Customer Service and Quality Manager at Bastian Automation Engineering.
Meeting the ISO 9001:2015 standards requires companies to perform quality audits of their systems and processes. From employee education to preventative maintenance, document maintenance, supplier management, and more, it ensures companies continually improve products, processes, and services.
“While we were already performing many of these processes in our daily operations, by further refining the processes, we can continue to grow, improve, and ultimately better serve our customers,” continued Eckerle.
The scope of Bastian Automation Engineering’s quality management system includes research, design, and manufacturing of material handling and automation equipment. The company received its ISO 9001:2015 certification on November 11, 2016, with the registration number: 16-R5552.
