Basketball Pioneer Kenny Sailors and His Jump Shot Immortalized in 21+-Foot Sculpture

Malvern, PA - December 18, 2017: The Wallace Cranes Tri-Adjustable Gantry Crane lifted into place a 21’ 8” foot sculpture of basketball pioneer and acknowledged inventor of the jump shot, Kenny Sailors.  Weighing under a ton, the statue was unveiled at the entrance to the newly renovated University of Wyoming’s Arena-Auditorium in Laramie, WY. The late Sailors, a UW alum, is a sports legend.

New Jersey sculptor Jay Warren created the portrait sculpture. It was transported and installed by Harry Gordon Studios of Lambertville, NJ.

“Our Tri-Adjustable Gantry crane was a perfect fit for the project. Our crane was not only able to lift this impressive sculpture, but also its portability allowed the crane to carry the sculpture on a long, windy path to get to the installation site,” said Sherry DeCarville, president of Wallace Cranes.
