BASF to Present Innovation Pipeline - Engineering Plastics at SPE® AutoEPCON
WYANDOTTE, MI, April 26, 2010 - Volker Warzelhan, Ph.D., Senior Vice-President, Polymer Research-Thermoplastics at BASF SE , will give a keynote address, Innovation Pipeline - Engineering Plastics, at the fifth annual SPE® Automotive Engineering Plastics Conference (AutoEPCON) held at the Michigan State University, Management Education Center in Troy, Michigan on April 27, 2010. The Automotive Division and Detroit Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE®) International hosts this one-day technical conference and exhibition specifically focused on engineering plastics for the automotive industry.
Dr. Warzelhan will discuss the impacts of mega-trends and legislative changes that are driving demand for lighter weight materials that enable design flexibility, improve safety and comfort and provide higher performance. Additionally, these materials help address the need for environmental sustainability. He will demonstrate how early collaboration with customers improves development time and helps drive change in the automotive market, as well as provides automotive manufacturers with solutions that address the changing landscape of automotive design.
