Award-Winning XM Mini-Tuner Leads the Way for New Audiovox Satellite Radio Products

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8 // -- Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ:VOXX) introduced their new XM satellite radio product line featuring the XM Mini-Tuner at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show. The new line centers around the award winning XM Mini-Tuner and features products that span the product categories and include, home theater and audio, mobile applications, portable uses and even a navigation piece that gives you the first XM and GPS in one unit.

Subscription to XM is required to receive satellite radio service on all of these products, however use of the Mini-Tuner allows for a single subscription to be used on a variety of consumer electronics products.

Leading the new products is the CNP2000 XM Mini-Tuner, a portable cartridge receiver no larger than an SD card. The XM Mini-Tuner won an Honoree Award at the 2007 CEA Innovations Event. "The key to the XM Mini-Tuner is its portability," says Tom Malone, Senior VP Sales. "It can be moved from home to office to vehicles...all you need are consumer electronics products that are XM Mini-Tuner-ready either with a plug-in Mini-Tuner connection or a built-in Mini-Tuner slot. The number of products that fit the bill is growing every day as more and more manufacturers develop products that come with that capability and give the user access to XM broadcasting in the home, office or vehicle. And the XM Mini-Tuner provides that access for only one monthly subscription regardless of how many systems you use it on." MSRP: $29.99.

For in-vehicle use, Mini-Tuner technology is also available in the new Audiovox Commander MT XMRVRFM002. This model can be installed in any vehicle with an FM radio and the Mini-Tuner can be removed for use in multiple applications. The Company's plans for future car solutions will feature a built in universal programmable smart digital adapter vehicle docking station and a roof-mount antenna to be used with the XM Mini- Tuner. This model will be available in 2007.

"Of our three portable navigation models, two of them use XM Mini-Tuner technology," said Malone. "Our NVXM1000 features a built in slot for the optional XM Mini-Tuner. Simply pop it in and our Navigation systems switches from GPS to a full XM system with all 170 XM channels plus XM Real-Time Traffic broadcasts that provide updated information on road conditions for optimum driving. The Company is also introducing the NVX406, which is XM- capable as well, and requires an optional XM Mini-Tuner and docking station to accept XM radio programming.
