Aven Expands Online Presence With New Website Resources

ANN ARBOR, MI - June 22, 2010 - A comprehensive website redesign and content expansion is launched by Aven, Inc., a global manufacturer of precision tools and optical inspection systems. The updated site, still at www.aveninc.com, features quick-find product displays and other functionality improvements.

By introducing simpler navigation and a fresh look on every page, the upgrade is intended to help industrial, scientific, medical and educational customers find products easily, compare model details, submit inquiries or request custom application quotes. Items can be placed in an online shopping cart from any product display.

The most significant upgrade involves one-click access to products grouped in two sets - 12 optical inspection tool categories and 12 hand tool clusters. Within each group, such as Biological Microscopes or Alignment Tools, visitors can drill down to see as many as several dozen choices. Site browsers can click up to five choices at a time to compare items, request information or obtain a quote.

"Our goal was to improve efficiency through side-by-side comparisons and visual cues that help customers find what they want without needless reading," says Mike Shahpurwala, president of Aven, located in a high-technology corridor of Ann Arbor, Mich. "Our manufacturer reps and distributors also benefit from an enhanced online resource that includes their contact information." The site, with eight topic sections, displays technical information, spec sheets on selected items and the company's 132-page catalog.

The overhaul was developed with ThomasNet Web Solutions, an industrial marketing specialist that has designed more than 2,000 business site. It's a division of Thomas Publishing Co., based in New York City.
