MELBOURNE, Fla., June 18, 2007 - AuthenTec, the world's leading provider of fingerprint authentication sensors and solutions, announced that its AES1610 fingerprint sensors are standard in more than a dozen new 2007 Windows Vista(TM)-model notebook PCs offered by ASUSTeK Computer, Inc. (ASUS) for businesses and consumers. With biometrically-secured models selling in Europe, the U.S. and Asia, ASUS is leveraging AuthenTec's TruePrint® technology in its exclusive ASUS Security Protect Manager (ASPM) feature to improve overall system security and convenience.

Bundled with the Trusted Platform Module, the exclusive ASPM allows ASUS notebooks to run applications securely and to make transactions and communications more trustworthy. ASPM improves system security and productivity by consolidating user passwords and network accounts within a single data unit called User Identity. Users can choose to setup multi-factor authentication requirements for different security levels while benefiting from the Single Sign On (SSO) one-time login convenience without compromising security integrity.
AuthenTec's fingerprint authentication is a key component of end-to-end security for ASPM by delivering highly accurate fingerprint reading - a scan that reads from the live layer of the skin and is thus less affected by common skin surface conditions. AuthenTec's fingerprint sensors are integrated into more than 150 PC products today.
Following the successful launch of two fingerprint-enabled notebooks in 2006, ASUS has introduced six business notebooks and eight consumer notebooks this year with plans to feature AuthenTec's sensor in additional models by the end of 2007.
