National Sleep Services Announced as ATA Featured Product Provider

Nationwide Program Provides Low-cost OSA Screening for Drivers

ARLINGTON, Va. – Today, American Trucking Associations announced National Sleep Services as its newest ATA Featured Product provider.

"Drivers throughout the industry are committed to becoming healthier and more active," said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. "National Sleep Services is helping drivers test their health and make life-changing improvements, getting them back on the road in order to deliver the items American families rely on each day."

In an effort to strengthen the positioning of trucking as a safety-first industry, National Sleep Services created a nationwide fatigue management safety program for trucking companies.

The program features a nationwide network of more than 6,000 sleep specialists who provide portable home sleep testing for obstructive sleep apnea. The portable technology allows drivers to test for sleep apnea from where they normally sleep instead of costly and inconvenient sleep lab testing.

"Creating a sleep apnea program for risk-sensitive occupations is not a 'one-size-fits-all' endeavor," said Bob Hoffman, vice president of National Sleep Services. "We listen to what your company wants and tailor a program specific to your needs that is least intrusive on the drivers."

National Sleep Services' fatigue management safety program includes timely treatment for obstructive sleep apnea and focuses on effective treatment and compliance coaching to support the drivers as they adjust to CPAP therapy, according to Hoffman.

"We're a one-stop shop," said Hoffman. "If the test is positive, we will provide the CPAP and supplies with face-to-face instruction so the driver is back on the road in a matter of days."

Hoffman mentioned that many transportation companies are being proactive and taking it upon themselves to screen and, when necessary, treat their drivers who are diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea.

"A significant amount of our new clients are including fatigue management as part of their corporate wellness program," said Hoffman. "Companies utilize our program as a means to protect their interest and safety of their company, workers and the general public."

National Sleep Services works with transportation companies to offer a low-cost solution that screens for, makes diagnosis of and treats obstructive sleep apnea.
