ATA, HELP Inc. Renew Featured Product Partnership

ARLINGTON, Va.,  -- Today, American Trucking Associations and HELP Inc. announced they were renewing their Featured Product partnership for 2014 with HELP's PrePass weigh station electronic screening and preclearance service.

"In our increasingly electronically connected world, now more than ever fleets are looking to automate and streamline as many processes as they can," said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. "For more than 20 years, PrePass has been providing that type of service to improve efficiency of many trucking companies and we're pleased to continue our relationship with them."

PrePass' inspection preclearance services are available at 302 operational weigh stations and ports of entry in 31 states, with eight new sites under construction or in planning stages. Under HELP's program, enrolled trucks are electronically pre-screened for federal and state safety and credentials before receiving permission to bypass inspection facilities at highway speeds. In addition, PrePass offers automated toll payment service for more than 80 highways, bridges and tunnels nationwide.

"With more than 465,000 trucks now qualified for PrePass electronic screening and pre-clearance, our program remains the largest in North America," said HELP President and CEO Karen Rasmussen. "In November last year, the value of the savings associated with PrePass weigh station pre-clearance exceeded $4 billion with a minimum savings of nearly $9 per bypass," she said. "As HELP enters its third decade of providing motor carriers and states the efficiencies and safety inherent in PrePass, we are proud to be an ATA Featured Product."
