ASTM Pervious Concrete Subcommittee Developing First Proposed Standard
All interested parties are invited to join in the activities of Subcommittee C09.49 on Pervious Concrete as it develops its first proposed standard, WK16885, Test Method for Density and Void Content of Pervious Concrete. The subcommittee is under the jurisdiction of Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates.
"WK16885 and forthcoming standards for pervious concrete arose from the need to provide specifiers and owners with test methods catered to pervious concrete," says Michael Davy, WK16885 task group leader and Technical Services Representative, Cocoa District, CEMEX. "Due to the porous nature of the material, existing test methods for plain fresh concrete may not apply. The proposed unit weight test method can be used as a means of verifying the producer's mixture proportions on a particular project at the job site."
