Richard R. Geoffroy, director of engineering and applications at Polymer Services Group in Somers, CT, has been named chairman of ASTM International Committee F17 on Plastic Piping Systems. Geoffroy has been with Polymer Services Group since 1985 having previously served as a department manager at Springborn Laboratories, Inc., and plastics engineering group leader at Ionics, Inc. A graduate of Lowell Technological Institute, Geoffroy holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in plastics.

ASTM International Plastic Piping Systems Committee Names Richard R. Geoffroy as New Chairman



Richard R. Geoffroy, director of engineering and applications at Polymer Services Group in Somers, Conn., has been named chairman of ASTM International Committee F17 on Plastic Piping Systems. 



Formed in 1973, F17 includes 18 subcommittees that oversee more than 180 standards related to specifications for plastic pipe, fittings, best practices for joining and installing plastic pipes, test methods and more. Geoffroy has been a member of ASTM since 1983.



Geoffroy has been with Polymer Services Group since 1985 having previously served as a department manager at Springborn Laboratories, Inc., and plastics engineering group leader at Ionics, Inc.



A graduate of Lowell Technological Institute (now part of University of Massachusetts Lowell), Geoffroy holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in plastics. He also holds a master’s degree in management science from University of Lowell (now part of University of Massachusetts Lowell). Geoffroy has also been a member of the Plastics Pipe Institute, Society of Plastics Industry, Plastic Pipe & Fittings Association, and the Society of Plastics Engineers.
