Papers Invited for ASTM International Gypsum Technologies Symposium



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.—Papers are invited for a symposium on Advances in Gypsum Technologies and Building Systems to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of ASTM International Committee C11 on Gypsum and Related Building Materials and Systems. The symposium will be held May 21, 2015, at the Marriott Anaheim in Anaheim, Calif.



The objective of the symposium is to review innovations over the past 25 years for gypsum products, systems, testing and related building applications, as well as to highlight future opportunities and challenges. Papers in the following subject areas are sought:

• Gypsum panels, plaster and related building materials;

• Exterior envelope systems;

• Joint treatment and finishing materials;

• Framing materials and systems;

• The role of gypsum in codes, sustainability and green buildings;

• Advances in testing and analysis;

• New developments and challenges in the global gypsum market;

• New developments in manufacturing processes;

• Aggregates and additives; and

• Alternate sources of gypsum.



To participate in the symposium, presenters/authors must submit a 250-300 word preliminary abstract by March 3, 2014. The abstract must include a clear definition of the objective and approach of the work discussed, pointing out material that is new, and present sufficient details regarding results. The presentation and manuscript must not be of a commercial nature nor can it have been previously published. The symposium co-chairmen will notify you by July 7, 2014, of your paper’s acceptability for presentation at the symposium.
