ASTM International Max Hecht Award Given to John R. Hubbling


John R. Hubbling, laboratory manager for Metropolitan Council/Environmental Services, St. Paul, Minn., received the Max Hecht Award from ASTM International Committee D19 on Water. The committee cited Hubbling for his outstanding service and advancing the study of water.

Hubbling lives in St. Paul, Minn.

Chair of Subcommittee D19.02 on General Specifications, Technical Resources, and Statistical Methods, Hubbling also works on ASTM International Committees D34 on Waste Management and E11 on Quality and Statistics. He has been an ASTM International member since 1975.

After he graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn., with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, Hubbling began working as a chemist for the regional environmental testing laboratory of the Metropolitan Council. He assumed his current position in 2004. Throughout his career, Hubbling has focused on analytical chemistry and environmental monitoring and analytical quality control systems.

In addition to ASTM International, Hubbling is a member of the Laboratory Managers Association.
