ASTM Committee A05 names Margaret Farabaugh new chairman.

Margaret A. Farabaugh, technical services engineer for The Techs, A Division of Steel Dynamics (Turtle Creek, PA), will serve as chairman of ASTM International Committee A05 on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products. ASTM member since 2004, Farabaugh received Award of Appreciation for her work on Committee A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel and Related Alloys as well as Outstanding Service Award for her work on Committee A05.

ASTM International Committee on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products Names Margaret Farabaugh as New Chairman



Margaret A. Farabaugh, technical services engineer, The Techs, A Division of Steel Dynamics, Turtle Creek, Pa., has been named chairman of ASTM International Committee A05 on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products.



Formed in 1906, A05 has over 270 members representing 21 countries, and includes 8 technical subcommittees that oversee more than 70 standards related to iron and steel products protected against corrosion by use of metallic coating. Farabaugh has been a member of ASTM since 2004.



Farabaugh has been with The Techs, A Division of Steel Dynamics, since 2001, having previously served as project manager at USX Engineers & Consultants, Inc. Farabaugh holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh.



Farabaugh previously received an Award of Appreciation for her work on Committee A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel and Related Alloys, and the Outstanding Service Award for her work on Committee A05.
